God and Savior

God’s Amazing Love

God’s wrath is upon the whole sinful world, but, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”
“Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already.”
Outside of Jesus, the wrath. Inside of Jesus, the love. The love of God is, He would die to put you in Jesus, so He can love you as His children. It is only in Christ, we are not sinners. It is only in the Son, we are children of God. God’s love is amazing only in the context of God’s holy wrath.
We don’t truly understand God’s love until we’ve realized that we don’t deserve it. He died for the enemies He hates, so we can become someone He loves. That’s the love of God.

D. S. Whitney’s Bible Study

Donald. S. Whitney recommends six facets to Bible intake: Hearing, Reading, Studying, Memorizing, Mediating and Applying.
On Bible Reading his three suggestions for effectiveness are: 1) find the time, 2) find a Bible reading plan and 3) find at least one word, phrase or verse to meditate on each time you read.

分別善惡樹

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil

God created Adam to be like Him.
God created Adam to live forever.
God created Adam to rule.
Adam needed knowledge to rule.
Adam’s knowledge came from God, and accorded with God.

The tree = Adam could know good and evil by himself.
The tree = The tree of autonomy = morally autonomous

Adam chose to eat the fruit = sin
Sin = separated from God
The law of sin = always against the law of God

God says “don’t eat” => Sinners eat
God says bad => Sinners say good
God says good => Sinners say bad

“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20). 禍哉！ 那些稱惡為善，稱善為惡，以暗為光，以光為暗，以苦為甜，以甜為苦的人。
Genesis 3:22, And the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us, to know good and evil (autonomously)…”
